Item Description
2.5" tall die-cut and embossed sheet of brass with silver finish on the front, mostly remaining intact. Reverse has large vertical pin. The text quoted in our title is embossed and names famous newspaper which sponsored a charity titled "New York World's Christmas Tree Fund." That charity had a children's division which solicited penny and nickel contributions from children who could afford to help less well off children. This badge was apparently given to the contributing children. Only the second example we've seen. The earliest badge we know of with a reference to "St. Nick". VF.
