Item Description
Original 10.75x16.25x2.25" deep cardboard box w/nicely illustrated lid label contains complete game consisting of painted wooden base w/six hinged paper German targets mounted on wooden platform. These include large artillery gun, armored vehicle, "Kultur" airship, "Hemdin" battleship, and two German soldiers, one w/Iron Cross on chest. Made in England by unknown company, c. 1915. Box shows scattered moderate wear w/.25" puncture to center of lid w/.75" area of missing surface paper around it. Lid has one corner split w/.75x1" piece missing and box bottom has two corner splits. Two inner tray/wells are intact. VG. Game features a shaft w/crank handle that attaches platform to base via cord w/lead weight. This cord is wound up and run through metal loop which when released, causes platform to revolve so players can fire at targets, one of which has glue repair at ankles. Although a gun from the period is provided, it does not match the image shown on lid and is not functional. Worn envelope w/three wooden bullets present. Contents are Fine-VF overall. A rare game due to the fragile nature of the paper targets. First we've seen in our 49 years.
