Item Description
3-1/8" by 1/8" thick pewter encased mirror. Underside has a small loop plus a bracket intended to enable mirror to prop up for use and is stamped "BC 1844." Top features embossed portrait w/text "Major General Zachariah Taylor U.S." Mirror has scattered finish loss but retains over 75% of the original mirrored surface. Pewter cover has scattered light wear that detracts minimally. VF. A strong strike and fine details make this a superior example to the majority of the few we have encountered in the last five decades.
