Item Description
Lot consists of four distinct varieties (of five known, including version w/Amoco-Gas ad on back cover which is only version not included in this lot) published by Whitman, ©1933 Walt Disney Studios, Inc. BLBs feature alternating text pages and single panel pictures. Story by Ted Osborne, art by "Mickey Mouse" daily strip artist Floyd Gottfredson. Reprints Feb. 27 to June 10, 1932 daily strip. First is regular 4-1/8x4.25" BLB version w/300 pages. #731 on spine. Scattered edge/corner tip wear w/minor handling crease to front cover, but still a tight VF example. 3-7/8x3-7/8" softcover w/300 pages also features #731 on spine as well as art image of pilot. Even age toning to cover w/some scattered edge/corner tip wear. Fine overall. 3.5x4" softcover does not feature number on spine. This edition is similar to version w/ad on back cover, instead featuring back cover art of Mickey Mouse parachuting. Cover shows lt. wear/aging and top left corner has color touch-up which blends nicely. VF overall. Scarce version. Taller format 3-3/8x4-7/8" softcover has edge wear and spine rippling w/some handling creases to front cover but still tight and Fine overall. An instant collection for this all-time classic BLB.
