Item Description
10-1/8x13.5x4.5" deep illustrated cardboard open display box w/thin cellophane band on front contains 12.5" tall (to top of witch's hat) poseable doll by Ideal, ©1965 Screen Gem Inc. Box features photo images of Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stephens from the 1964-1972 sitcom "Bewitched." Front portion of original cellophane band has "Samantha" name, cartoon image from show's credits and "Pose Her In Many Bewitching Positions" text. Box comes w/just the front panel section of band (which original went entire way around box) but has been neatly trimmed and attached to thin plastic. Entire box has been shrink-wrapped, neatly keeping contents in place. Box has some tape at lower front left corner and at lower front right, keeping cello panel in place. Box shows moderate wear w/creasing to top panel and heavy creasing to left/right side panels. Inward warp due to tightness of shrink-wrap. VG/Fine. Doll wears elaborate red felt dress w/sparkle accents and matching witch's hat and red heels. Doll is unused w/original stick pins in hat as issued. Complete w/10.25" long wooden handled broom w/actual bristles. NM. Very rare as boxed and by far the most sought after item produced during the show's initial run. Our last boxed example of this doll sold for $1,864.
