Item Description
3.25x5" double-sided "Superman Club Card" issued for Flushing, NY Roosevelt Theatre during the original release of Columbia's 1950 "Atom Man Vs. Superman" movie serial starring Kirk Alyn. Card has section that reads "See 14 Chapters Of 'Atom Man Vs. Superman' And Have This Card Punched Each Week. Then Present Card At The Door And See The Last Chapter Absolutely Free!" First 10 blocks have been punched and card has handwritten text in Spanish along right margin and card has moderate handling wear w/corner creases. VG. Comes w/3.5x4.75" wood ad mat mold used to create lead castings for letterpress printing of the card offered above. Typically thrown out after the cast was made, this ad mat is made of a wood pulp product and has some thin cardboard backing added to impressions on reverse. Exc. Both card and ad mat are rare and first we've offered in our 49 years. Most likely a unique pair. Franco Toscanini Collection.
