Item Description
This ring consists of a brass adjustable base identical to that used for the 1948 Roger Wilco Magni-Ray ring offered by Power House candy bar. On that ring beneath a plastic cover there was a glow-in-the-dark piece of paper. On this ring the paper is replaced by a riveted circle of brass with the addition of a post holding a brass backboard and attached hoop. At the front of the ring through a tiny hole a linked chain is attached and on the end of this there was once a tiny brass basketball no longer present. The ring could be moved around in an attempt to get the ball to drop through the hoop. This may also be a Power House candy premium but we do not know that for a fact. We did catalog this ring in Hake's Pop Culture Memorabilia guide as RGS-40 with values in 2008 spanning $125 in good condition up to $500 in NM condition. Although incomplete, VF and still a rare ring and one of only two we've offered in our 49 years.
