Item Description
Large 14.5x18.25x5" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains all plastic assembly kit No. 470, ©1964 Universal Pictures Company Inc. Box design includes great large portrait image of Frankenstein as portrayed by Glenn Strange plus photos of model being assembled and put into action. Box notes assembled model is almost two feet tall w/arms that move up and down. Partial store price sticker on right side panel of lid. Moderate scattered handling wear w/edge creases and corner tip wear to lid w/scattered color touch-ups, which blend for the most part. Fine overall. Frankenstein comes w/headstone piece and chain which attaches to this. Parts are black/light and dark gray plastic, chain links in bronze/copper plastic. Kit comes w/aged instruction sheet which has horizontal fold at center and has some small tears/chips. VG. Kit is missing paints, paintbrush, one neck bolt and one arm socket grommet. Head and collar have been partially assembled and chest has had one jacket button put in place. Chain parts have been removed from sprues and original bag. Other pieces have been removed from bags as well. Kit is o/w unused and VF-Exc. overall. The largest figure kit Aurora ever released, it was designed by Marvin Glass who also designed Mr. Machine, Mousetrap and the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots among others. Affectionately referred to in the hobby as "Big Frankie" this kit is considered to be the holy grail of Aurora models by most collectors.
