Item Description
Original cardboard box has lid w/illustrated label containing 9.75" long nicely detailed boat w/hard plastic hull and cabin, tin litho deck and control panel w/plastic windshield and engine cover. Made in West Germany by Schuco, 1950s. Comes w/four-page instruction sheet w/text in English. Slipcase style box shows scattered wear/aging w/fade to red lid and label and some scattered surface paper flakes at edges/corner. Lid has one corner split. Built-in box insert has .5" tear at die-cut area where boat's bow rests. Fine overall. Toy has two methods of operation - boat has battery compartment to operate freely but also comes w/separate battery holder/controller to allow operation from shore w/cable. Toy has not been tested as European batteries are needed for operation (American batteries are slightly larger). NM, old store stock.
