Item Description
14.25" tall solid plaster statue features great likeness of Hollywood sex symbol Mae West wearing low-cut, tight fitting gown, large hat and holding an actual purple feather in front of her. There were a number of different West carnival statues made in the 1930s (see following item #1089), but this is a realistic likeness and attire. Dark glitter accents on chest and to interior of large hat brim, though these show some wear. Legs also had some spots of dark glitter accents, but most is now missing w/some loss of paint. Statue exhibits some scattered paint wear to edges of wrap and feather shows some aging/wear. Fine overall. Rare and first we've offered in our 49 years. Eric Renner Collection.
