Item Description
15.5x17x6.75" cardboard Revell shipping box contains complete retailer's display for Dr. Seuss's "Cat In The Hat Beginners Hobby Kit." 1959. Box is complete w/all cardboard insert used to keep 12" assembled and painted Cat in the Hat model kit safe during transit. Box shows scattered lt. wear from shipping but is VF overall. Kit also consists of folding die-cut display featuring image of Dr. Seuss's beloved book as well as Sally and her brother. Center has fold-down platform that locks in place for displaying included display model. Revell logo appears on this display as well as $1.29 price. Trace edge wear but o/w unused and Exc. Comes w/oval-shaped "A Great New Hobby Kit For Beginners!" cardboard placard for use w/display and glossy 17.5x20.5" promotional poster featuring art of the book and the finished model, again noting price. Folded as issued w/some wear along fold lines and at corners. VF. Original display assembly instructions included. Display model has some aging where glued as expected, but this is minor and does not detract greatly. VF. As impressive as any Seuss items we've offered over the years and an exceptional piece for model collectors as well. Very rare and first we've seen in our 49 years.
