Item Description
The "Morgan" dollar was a dollar coin minted by the US Mint from 1878 to 1904, and then again in 1921. The coin is named for its designer, US Mint Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan. The obverse depicts a profile portrait representing Liberty w/"Liberty" tiara, while the reverse depicts a heraldic eagle w/wings outstretched. From October 1972 to June 1974 the US Treasury offered five sales of silver dollars, consisting mainly of Carson City silver dollars. These sales were called the GSA (Government Services Administration) Hoard. Purchases were limited to one date per household.
