Item Description
Dress worn by comedic legend Carol Burnett on an episode of the long-running ''The Carol Burnett Show'' TV program. Designed by Academy Award-nominated costume designer Bob Mackie, who served as designer for the show from 1967-1978. Burnt orange wool dress w/yellow zigzag ribbon trim features faux fur trim at cuffs and hem, as well as gray and brown faux fur trim at shoulders. Left shoulder has two braided rope attachments. Dress features a square panel chest opening and rear zipper to the waist. Burnett's name is written on the original "John Reid Costumes, Inc. - New York City" wardrobe tag sewn inside collar. Dress has a few scattered tiny insect holes, largest of which appear on back of dress's left shoulder. White shoulder strap has aged piece of tape wrapped around it. Dress is still fine for display. Comes with previous auction COA.
