Item Description
Currently flattened (but complete and easily reassembled if desired) box is 14x15". This same box was used for two different issues, Tarzan & The She Devil in 1953 (ACC# R714-21) and Tarzan's Savage Fury in 1954 (ACC# R714-22). Lid features Tarzan, an ape and example of the 3D glasses included in each pack. Lid flap has ink stamp "File Copy Please Return To Woody Gelman."  Gelman (1915-1978), was a publisher, cartoonist, novelist and an artist-writer for both animation and comic books. From 1953 to the late 1970s, Gelman headed Topps's Product Development Department. He assigned work to numerous freelance cartoonists including Jack Davis, Basil Wolverton and Wally Wood. Beginning in 1967, he supervised Wacky Packages. He was responsible for devising many other Topps cards, stickers, posters and humor products over decades. Box has moderate wear/aging as stored over the years. Fine. A unique item for the Topps collector.
