Item Description
5.5x8.5x1.25" deep painted composition with details in high relief on both sides. Marked "A Dixon Product No. 2770." 1930s. Complete with cardboard storage tray that slides out from the top. Variety with red shoes rather than green. Comes in original but generic cardboard box which shows scattered aging, one corner split. Fine. Pencil box has some tiny scattered traces of paint wear but remains totally bright and glossy. Exc. Two-piece celluloid set marked with a Disney copyright. Japan, 1930s. Figure is 4.25" tall while life preserver is 3" dia. Mickey is filled with granules and serves as a baby rattle. Also fits perfectly into the life preserver and comes with a custom acrylic stand to display the piece. Mickey has all-over scattered traces to the glossy finish with some traces of paint wear but most color remains. Head is pushed down slightly with indentation under neck but not really visible when viewed straight-on, noticeable when figure is turned upside-down. Scattered trace of aging to the life preserver. Overall set remains Fine. Very rare. This is the first time we've ever offered this item. This piece is featured on Page 56 of "Mickey Mouse Memorabilia" by Bernard Shine.
