Item Description
9.5x20x2" deep box. Marks Bros. c. 1934. Same circus theme illustration appears on the lid, box bottom and separate backdrop board and features Mickey as the ring master, Pluto as a clown, Minnie balancing on the back of Horace and Clarabelle on trapeze. Box lid has moderate scattered dust soiling, edge wear with some surface paper rubs and a pair of 1" side panel splits. Lid VG. The thick cardboard back drop board fits into slotted wood block at the inside top of the box bottom. Attached to this board are four cardboard pieces depicting Mickey and Minnie on trapeze with a raised hand holding a wood cup. These separate pieces are mounted on a post and a ball is placed in the cup of the top one which in turn tips and causes the ball to fall from one piece to the next. At bottom it rings a bell and then rolls into the box bottom into one of the designated score areas. The box bottom insert has some small scattered traces of surface paper wear, mostly to the target circles. VF. The separate back panel has traces of wear along bottom edge from assembly but remains bright and glossy, Exc. Great design and a rare game. From the Gary Selmonsky Collection.
