Item Description
9.75x11.25" pocket folder from "Industrial Design Affiliates," the company that made molds for Mattel's Hot Wheels Line. Folder's front/tabs have "Mattel Toys" and "Product: Development - Thunder Runners... 7026 - Model: Dragster" labels. Folder contains extensive details about this mold, including 10 sketches, blueprints, stats (w/various views of the proposed model including full design views, expanded body sections, etc.). Two have Larry Wood's signature. Wood was a famous Hot Wheels designer for many years. Also included are three additional sheets; one on company letterhead dated Oct. 10, 1983 containing mold production schedule notes, cost breakdowns, etc. Entire cost of the molds was to be in the $18,000 range. As far as we can determine, the car named in this folder was never produced or some concepts found their way to other Hot Wheels models. Condition overall of contents is VF/Exc. A fascinating look into the Hot Wheels design/manufacturing process.
