Item Description
Pair of apparently home-made but very nicely done 27" tall dolls from the 1930s. Possibly Charlotte Clark McCall pattern dolls. Horace is detailed with felt hat, bridle and separate horsecollar with bowtie while Clarabelle has separate collar, cowbell attached at neck and skirt. Clarabelle has an attached tail, Horace is missing his tail. Faces very nicely done with stitched detailing. We have never seen patterns for these dolls nor have we ever seen the dolls themselves. Each has scattered wear/aging including some areas of tanning to faces, some small traces of moisture. Horace has stitch repair to neck tear. Each has a few tiny fabric pulls. Overall both still about Fine. Impressive in both size and design. From the Gary Selmonsky collection.
