Item Description
5.75" tall (8.75" to top of raised handle) tin litho. Ohio Art, 1930s. Great wraparound scene showing Mickey Mouse dressed as pirate (complete w/pirate boots and sword) on raft w/crossbones flag. Minnie Mouse sits at back of raft w/parrot. Pail shows scattered moderate paint wear, w/surface oxidation at bare areas of rim. Interior has scattered scratches from use and exterior shows some wear to upper areas, some w/oxidation. VG/Fine. One of the scarcer earlier Ohio Art Disney sand pails. Doug & Pat Wengel Collection and this is the actual example shown in their book "Comic Character Metal Sand Toys."
