Item Description
7" tall rubber and likely designed as a squeak toy although, as is typical, rubber has hardened w/age. ©1935 King Features Syndicate. Due to hardening of rubber, figure is slightly distorted and leans, but still stands. Missing pipe. Scattered paint wear to knees and shoes and scattered age spotting to hat, face ad arms. VG/Fine. Rare due to its fragile nature. Comes w/4x4x2.75" tall rubber ashtray holder and vintage Acro-Agate ashtray insert. Ashtray holder is designed as if Popeye has his arms around glass tray insert, his head held above tray itself. Schavoir Rubber Co. ©1935 KFS as marked on back of shirt. As is typical, rubber has hardened w/age, resulting in some surface cracks and slight distortion to Popeye's head, given him the appearance of looking down into tray insert. Scattered age spotting and dust soiling. VG/Fine. Very rare item, due again to its fragile nature.
