Item Description
Two buttons are 2.5" with the first naming maker Phila. Badge and this name also appears on the 2-3/8" oval. First two buttons have text "WPHS" and "WP". We are not sure if these are from West Philadelphia High School or William Penn High School. First button has reference to "49'ers" with artist initials "A.F." Reverse top has .5" cello split with the celluloid making a tiny open gap and creating a very tiny bump on the top edge of the button. Button otherwise displays Mint. Second button shows niece of 1940s comic book character and this is NM displaying Mint. Third button has curl text "Copyright 1950 By King Features Syndicate, Inc." and it is exceptionally colorful and well drawn with extremely tiny artist initials along the bottom edge of the girl's dress reading "M.B." The girl may be a representation of the character Polly Pigtails, however that magazine for girls was published by Parents' Magazine Institute whereas this button carries the KFS copyright. Trivial tarnish on the reverse with celluloid NM displaying Mint.
