Item Description
First at 7/8" and with W&H back paper is the historic button issued for the "Home Celebration" welcoming the Wright Brothers home to Dayton, Ohio June 17-17, 1909. There is a tiny bit of moisture tone on the extreme outer edges but very faint and the button still displays beautifully and with high gloss. Next is a rare 1-3/8" litho reading "Welcome Home Clarence D. Chamberlain Denison Iowa Aug. 18, 1927." While Lindy got there first this was the second man to pilot a fixed-wing aircraft across the Atlantic Ocean and he was the first man to carry a trans-Atlantic passenger, Charles Levine. Button has four tiny areas of surface paint loss from his face but rest is NM and scarce. Last is 1929 button for the dedication of the municipal airport in Bethlehem, PA. NM displaying Mint.
