Item Description
Pair offered here are two of a variety of Charlie Chaplin plaster statues produced during the 1910s and 1920s. These date to 1915 and measure 7.5" and 9" tall. Smaller statue features incised "Charlie Chaplin" name on front and incised "© Ambus Corp. 1915" text. Chaplin is depicted w/cane as molded and has black painted accents to face and hat. Antique finish. VF/Exc. Larger statue has incised "Chas. Chaplin" name on front of base and feature Chaplin holding attached wire cane. A similar version had molded cane. Expert repair at ankles, still displays Exc. Eric Renner Collection and smaller statue is the example shown on page 28 of his book "American Disguise."
