Item Description
Original cardboard mailing box for famous Chicago store John M. Smyth Company contains 6.5" tall painted composition and wood jointed novelty figure w/fabric outfit and wire between hands that is threaded through composition body of smaller Yellow Kid figure. c. late 1890s. Mailing box has numerous strips of tape at corners/edges and along shipping label. VG/Fine. Figure exhibits trace of dust soiling but is o/w in choice condition for a piece of this age. No signs of wear from use, figure appears to have been stored in box from day one. VF/Exc. Unusual Yellow Kid-inspired toy. First we've seen in our 49 years.
