Item Description
Large and impressive 29.75x40.25" poster featuring striking design of man's gloved hand tightening bolt that makes up part of "Production" text. In addition to "Production" text, poster also features "America's Answer!" proclamation. Printed as part of a 1941 series of posters that pre-dates that attack on Pearl Harbor and American entry into the war by six months. It was during this period that the US was providing material support only to the Allies. Printed by US Government Printing Office for Division of Information - Office for Emergency Management, poster features art by Jean Carlu. Carlu's wonderful art combined power, technology and strength into a modern, almost mechanical style and this is one of the World War II era's most classic posters. Left margin has .5" strip w/moderate aging and rest of poster has some scattered lt. handling wear, but this could be easily matted for a VF/Exc. display. These posters were typically folded for distribution, but this example is one of the few that remain unfolded. Rolled and rare as such. Campbell Family Collection.
