Item Description
17x21" framed w/11.25x15.25" image area. Text at center bottom "Published By Covert & Dodge For The Whigs Of America." Polk is depicted as a wooden yoke around the head of a Texas longhorn who states "Polk, I Fear I Cannot Carry You Into The Presidential Chair." Polk says "Dear Texas, I Know You Cannot. I Wish I Had Rode Some Other Hoss But It Is Too Late To Repent." A 5" repaired vertical tear going through Polk's word bubble and chest; three small holes w/the largest at left .5" dia. and none affect the graphics. Moderate damp staining and wrinkling throughout. Good. Despite condition issues a fabulous graphic that is only the third known to us. Professionally framed and matted using glass that blocks UV rays. Ready to display upon arrival.
