Item Description
2.75x8" base w/total display height of 7.5" tall. All walnut construction w/brass grommets suspending wooden shield w/hand-painted insignia of the 1284th Engineer Battalion, which was deployed in both the European and Asian Theaters during World War II. Insignia features magpie carrying castle w/"1284 Engr. C. Bn." notation and Nazi Germany and Japanese flags from ramparts. Each of the magpie's clawed feet holds a severed head, one of Hitler, the other of Hirohito. This high quality item was likely made for presentation to the unit commander. Some lt. aging/wear but VF/Exc. overall.
