Item Description
48x51" linen weave white cotton tablecloth is unmarked but by All-American Cloth Color - Fornia Creations. 1940s. Tablecloth features printed cartoons within patriotic striping border. Center features football "Score Board" w/"U.S.A." victorious over "Axis Rats" by 130-20 final score. Immediately beneath scoreboard is cartoon image of FDR as coach sitting on bench w/"Joe American." FDR holds "Coach Roosevelt's ...V- Formation." They both observe football scene of "U.S." football player scoring touchdown, leaving Mussolini, Hitler and Tojo in the lurch as tacklers. Remaining three large cartoon scenes are of warfare nature, illustrating events of Allied victories in Japan, South Pacific, North Africa. Latter cartoon depicts "Rommel" as leader of tank troops on the run. Folded as issued w/tiny streak of staining but o/w bright, clean and NM w/deep color. Superb design.
