Item Description
Each about 3.5x5.5". First features image of Wesley Everest in doughboy uniform w/text "'Tell The Boys I Did My Best' Wesley Everest Victim Of The Mob Centralia, Wash Armistice Day, 1919." Everest was tortured and killed by a mob after shots were fired from the IWW headquarters into a Legion group on parade. Several Legion members were killed and eleven Wobblies were tried after the parade w/six spending 15 years in prison. No one was ever tried or convicted in the mob lynching of Everest. Reverse of card reads "Proceeds Go To Help Free The Centralia Victims Washington Branch General Defense Box 1873, Seattle, Wash." Wrinkling consistent w/moderate use and most notable are a 1" crease that just breaks the surface paper on left shoulder and a 3/8" horizontal tear at the extreme edge. Good/VG. Rare. Also included are two Frank Little post cards. First features real photo image of Little w/name beneath and text "Victim Of Anaconda Co. Thugs Died Aug 1, 1917 Butte Mont." Very minor wear to the extreme edges. No creases. Exc. Second is real photo of Little's body after his murder. Extensive creasing throughout w/most not breaking the surface paper and a small spot of blue staining on Little's chest. VG. Ted Watts Collection.
