Item Description
4x6.75". Postally canceled. At top an illustration of map titled "Somewhere In The Village" w/"4th Street," "7th Ave.," "Christopher St." and landmarks "Greenwich Village Theater," "Greenwich Village Inn," "Exhibition Sheridan Square" listed. Additional text reads "Water Colors And Black And Whites By Stuart Davis On Exhibition At The Sheridan Sq. Gallery." Dated at bottom "Dec. 8th to Dec. 22nd, 1917." Reverse has hand written address and minor overall toning from scrapbook mounting. Otherwise only light toning and a minor bend at the extreme top right corner. VF. In 1913 he had exhibited five watercolors at the famed 'Armory Show' where he was inspired by his exposure to European modern artists and committed to a focus on Cubism.
