Item Description
23x35" silk screen on thin paper. Art by "Mark Morris." Produced as a fictitious Playbill advertising "The Nixon Administration Proudly Presents Beckett 1971 Or The Incredible Case Of The Conspiracy Of The Harrisburg Six" w/"Six" crossed out and replaced w/"8" as part of the design. The cast list at bottom includes; "The Disturbed Monarch Richard M. Nixon," "His Hatchetman J. Edgar Hoover," "The Mastermind Fr. Phil Berrigan," "The Ghost Henry Kissinger" and "Directed By The Attorney General/Produced By The Military-Industrial Complex." Main graphic features images of conspirators including Berrigan center left. Also featured are images of Nixon and Hoover w/text "Who Will Rid Me Of These Meddlesome Priests?" Light edge toning and folds at top and bottom left corners and just a couple of tiny 1/8" edge tears. Only the fold at upper left affects the design. Extremely Fine. The Harrisburg Seven were a group of religious anti-Vietnam war activists charged w/conspiring to kidnap Henry Kissinger in 1971.  Far and away the most outstanding artifact related to the Harrisburg Seven we have encountered in five decades. Ted Watts Collection.
