Item Description
Sizes are 7/8" to 1.5" plus suspensions on the first two in the bottom row. The first nine buttons are c. 1898 and these have either W&H or American Pepsin Gum papers with the exception of Fremont which has no paper. The military men pictured are: Grant, Sheridan, Sheridan, Sherman, Hancock, McClellan, Fremont, Butler and Meade. In row three are a pair of brass rimmed buttons with real photos c. 1913. The first shows "Meade's Headquarters" and the second shows "National Monument Gettysburg." In the bottom row is a Meade portrait button with ribbon followed by a 1937 "National Antietam Commemoration" button which has a die cut celluloid suspension. The suspension has illustrations of McClellan and Lee. Last is a 1931 GAR button showing McPherson. All are NM displaying Mint.
