Item Description
2.5x4" card w/"T.J. Trapp New Photograph Gallery/Williamsport, PA" back stamp. 1.5x2" metal frame w/albumen portrait of John Wilkes Booth. Trivial aging to card. NM. Images like this were produced in the early 1860s and sold throughout the country as keepsakes related to Booth's famed acting career. After Booth assassinated President Lincoln cards like these were notoriously destroyed en masse throughout the country. This is the first example we can recall offering in this format in our 49 years. Rare.
