Large original cardboard box is oval 9.5x12x8" deep. Box has aging and stains but with original label on lid from Daniel Youmans Hatter, New York. About 35% of lid's side edge is professionally replaced. While box shows age, it is restored to solid, complete condition. Hat has bold rwb fabric bow surrounding. Upper surface of brim has some dark spots on felt but only a small 1x3" long area. Interior paper liner has ornately framed jugate of "Bryan & Stevenson" w/pencilled word below "Satler," probably name of original owner in 1900. Fine and rare. From the Hake collection.
