3x7.5". "C.S. Martindell Badges" label on reverse. This badge is not listed among the nearly 100 cataloged by Sullivan/Fischer and is also missing from the Hake guide. It features an applied albumen portrait of Blaine at the center of a gilt design featuring a perched eagle and two parade torches.The town of Dunkirk, New York had a population of just a little over 7,000 in 1884. The condition is simply stunning w/no loss of the gilt surface on any aspect of this beautiful ribbon badge. Essentially Mint. Rare.
