19x22.5x3.75" deep cardboard box w/illustrated hinged lid contains target set # 827 by Keystone Wood Toys of Boston, MA. Mid-1950s. Box lid was designed to be folded for display. Scattered handling wear/aging. Fine/VF. Wood contents include 21.5" long "Davy Crockett Repeater Rifle" w/plastic barrel and four safety tip bullets. Set also includes large painted wood pieces of "Fort Eagle Pass" backdrop, six die-cut Indian targets and one bear target as well as free-wheeling stagecoach and covered wagon w/cloth cover w/printed image of cowboy on bucking bronco and "California Or Bust!" text. All remains on original insert w/"Davy Crockett Indian Target Set text at top. Contents are complete and include instruction sheet which is evenly aged (w/spot of soiling) and is o/w Exc. Bright, colorful graphics. Well made. Unused. Old store stock. Exc. This is the largest of a number of sets produced by this company.
