Item Description
17-3/8x23". Features portrait of Carl Hampton at center w/text "Carl Was A Revolutionary." Additional text listing birth date and "Assassinated July 26, 1970." Quote at bottom reads "You Can Kill A Revolutionary, But You Can't Kill The Revolution." Hampton was killed during a standoff w/Houston Police Department's Central Intelligence Division. Hampton was Chairman Of The People's Party II a black revolutionary group modeled after the Black Panther Party. Hampton attempted to stop police from questioning a young man who was selling Black Panther Party newspapers on the streets. The intervention led to a ten-day standoff w/police that ended w/Hampton's killing by sniper fire. Very faint age toning at edges and handling wear consistent w/light use contained mostly to the lower edges. VF. Rare.
