Item Description
This ring c. 1949-1950 consists of a blue plastic base identical to those used for the Kellogg's rings inserted in cereal boxes at the time as well as used for the series of 12 Tom Corbett space cadet rings. We've seen one similar ring with the word "Pilot" printed backwards. On this ring printed backwards is the word "Jet" within the outline of an airplane. The Pilot ring had a plastic cover but this "Jet" ring does not have a cover. However, it does have a pair of 3/8" wide by 3/16" deep plastic containers each with a lid that opens and on the interior is an ink pad for use with the ring top so that once the ring was applied with ink images could be stamped with the word "Jet" appearing correctly. The two ink pad containers each have a little discoloration around their side edges from ink seepage but they still remain in Fine condition and the ring itself is Mint. Only example we've seen.
