Item Description
c.1994 Hasbro. 7.5" hard resin cast prototype 2 up "Shipwreck" figure. Fully painted prototype with 1 to 1 scale pelvis and legs painted gray. Pelvis and legs were shared by various Joes and didn't require fresh sculpting, instead production pieces were used in this stage of development. Non-articulated torso with arms has individual components glued together. This version of figure matches the series 13 "Battle Corps" design in Navy S.E.A.L. outfit. Waist sits on clear base for display. A unique and rare 2 up G.I. Joe prototype and displays Exc. as produced in the creative process. Also includes carded 3.75" production figure. NM. Next is 11x17" layout bond sheet with pre-printed information grid at bottom and "G.I. Joe Figure Sculpture Sheet 1994" on left margin. Original 2 up lead pencil turnaround for "Shipwreck" figure with 360° views of figure. Close-ups of arms. Designed for "Battle Corps" Asst. II. Artwork by Hasbro Senior Product Designer, David DesForges. Two small pieces of drafting tape holding art to border. NM as produced.
