Item Description
15x22" and 11.5x17.75". First is May 21, 1970 poster publication w/stories highlighting the history of the Black Panther Party titled and featuring the iconic graphic of a figure, arm upraised w/clenched fist. Essentially Mint and of file copy quality. "The Street Wall Journal" was a publication distributed by pasting posters to walls in New York City with the goal of spreading news of the Black Panther Party through non-traditional means and reaching those unable to afford an issue of a printed publication. Also included is a Feb. 17, 1969 newspaper w/striking cover featuring a full length portrait of Huey Newton and text "Happy Birthday Huey." Minor toning at edges and horizontal fold at center as issued. Extremely Fine and lacking the tears and staining present on the majority of surviving examples. The Black Community News Service was the newspaper of the Black Panther Party. At its height, circulation reached some 250,000 people across the country.
