Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 6" long painted heavy die-cast vehicle w/rubber tires and aluminum pallet w/original wooden lumber load. Although marketed as a toy, it is a highly detailed scale model of the actual Straddle Truck made by Hyster in 1951 and was also used as a promotional piece by Hyster dealers. Box notes this as "#50" and features "It's Real - It Steers 4 Wheels - It Loads" promotional text. Box is complete and has scattered dust soiling and corner tip/edge wear. Top flap has interior tape repair to 1.5" tear/puncture but box still displays Fine. This is smaller 6" version which is much scarcer than the larger 12" version. Toy's functions that mimic the actual machine include four wheel steering and lever that controls the up/down movement of the pallet and load. Scattered paint flaking to inner moving pieces, but still VF for display.
