Item Description
One of a kind grouping of the pieces involved in creating the statue. All items are 1 to 1 (actual production size). First item is the original 1" tall Master Wax head sculpts for Superman and Supergirl with strikingly precise details in the face and hair. They come mounted on brass rods with circular bases signed by the artist. Next is the fully realized resin Tool Parts used in the manufacture of the statue with all components. The final piece in the lot is the original 12.5" tall Paint Master prototype, hand-painted by the artist himself. Figures attach via metal pins to base. Detailed crashed spaceship with Supergirl emerging to an astonished Superman. One tail fin is detached and can easily be reglued. Figures have some paint loss from handling. All items are otherwise NM as produced with any defects being part of the creative process. Created for DC Direct in 2001. Comes with boxed example of the produced piece was in cold-cast porcelain for the Supergirl statue and is 12.5" tall based on Curt Swan's artwork for the cover of Action Comics #252 (May 1959) and for a limited edition of 2000 (edition 0411/2000) pieces worldwide. Comes in original 14x20x21" shipping box. Swan's art comes to life with only the 2D art used as the guide to create this 3D masterpiece. From the archives of sculptor extraordinaire Tim Bruckner and comes with COA.
