Item Description
Two type written and stapled 8.5x11" sheets of bond paper. The modern day Marvel Comics Group started in 1961, the year the company launched The Fantastic Four. This letter and schedule are literally at ground zero of Marvel's modern launch into the superhero market. Issues of note on the schedule are Fantastic Four #3 (the first appearance in costume March 1962) and Tales To Astonish #28 (the issue after the first Henry Pym as the non-costumed Ant Man). Amazing Adult Fantasy is listed with issues #9-11 (August 1962 is the world changing issue #15 Amazing Fantasy introducing Spider-Man). Letter is signed by Harold Chamberlain, Vice President and mentions Martin Goodman, Publisher responsible for the superhero resurgence at Marvel. Letter dated Nov. 13, 1961. Fantastic Four #1 was dated the same month and year. Lt. aging/wear only, lt. fold lines from being mailed in envelope. One of kind piece of Marvel history.
