Item Description
3.75x6.75x1" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains Wilane watch issued in 1948. This is first version of box issued (see following item #1981 for second version) and features matching photos on lid and insert that matches watch dial. Box has scattered wear including corner tip/edge wear and some color rubs, but retains its shape. Fine. Insert has heavy creasing and some small tears around opening for band. VG/Fine. Comes w/original guarantee paper. 1x1.25" watch case has original tooled leather straps. Case back reads "Always Your Pal - Gene Autry." Running. Case retains full luster and hands still glow-in-the-dark. Dial has even aging and watch is Fine/VF overall. Considered to be the first Gene Autry watch. This first version box is much rare than second version.
