Item Description
27x40" one-sheet poster for original release of the 1943 Columbia 15 chapter serial starring Tom Tyler. Based on Lee Falk's comic strip "The Phantom," the serial also starred Jeanne Bates as The Phantom's girlfriend Diana Palmer, and Ace the Wonder Dog as The Phantom's trusty companion Devil. All three are pictured at top, w/near full body image of The Phantom firing gun and yelling. This is for Chapter 15, "Peace In The Jungle" and features inset image from the serial, w/The Phantom holding necklace. Poster was folded but has been linen-mounted w/sight trim to edges after mounting. Poster is now rolled. Pin holes along margins and some scattered small margin tears. Upper left corner has 1.5" crease. .25 spot of staining by The Phantom's knee at lower left. Poster displays Fine as linen-mounted.
