Item Description
8.5x11" offset on thin yellow paper. Advertising an appearance at "Roosevelt Jr. High School" in San Jose, CA on "Fri. Oct. 24-8pm." Image of Davis w/cigarette in hand, at left w/text at right including "Assistant Professor Of Philosophy At UCLA, Fired By Board Of Regents Sept. 19, 1969 Solely On Basis Of Communist Party Membership." Ticket prices are listed at bottom right as "$1 General/50c Students & Unemployed." Additional text in small print at bottom reads "Arranged By People's World Forum/Proceeds To Angela Davis Defense." Folded into thirds. A 1" crease and light wrinkling at extreme edge of top right corner. Also of note is a less than .5" tear at bottom right just below "Defense" that does not affect text. Otherwise only minor toning. VF. A rare artifact from a little over a month after her firing and less than ten months before Davis would be implicated in the Marin County Courthouse Incident.
