Item Description
This 9" tall ribbon badge is complexly made and covered in historical Connecticut and USA references. Top has gorgeous cello hanger naming the 1904 expo and showing "The Connecticut House" pavilion. Suspended from bottom edge is a nearly full 3-D wood acorn (reason to follow). This lays on 2" ribbon backed by the larger 9" ribbon and shorter ribbon suspends solid back 1.25" cello showing state seal. Text at top "Connecticut The Constitution State" along with smaller text names: "Hooker/Haynes/Ludlow". These men, in the 1600s, wrote The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, the first governing concepts for the colony and basis for future laws. At bottom, four text blocks relate to: 1639 Constitution in Conn., 1662 Winthrop Charter secured, 1687 Charter hidden in oak tree (thus acorn above) and 1789 US Constitution "Adopted On Connecticut's Model". Bottom left corner has .5" vertical split at edge, faint trace of all over age tone. VF and Rare.
