Item Description
4-1/4x5-5/8". 1900. Embossed cover w/gilt art nouveau design framing an etching of the U.S. Capitol building w/portraits of candidates in laurel wreaths at top right and bottom left. Design is complete w/a waving American flag at top left. Interior of cards has "Sample No." at top and paragraph w/suggestions for use. At lower right is a price list and maker named as "Butler & Kelley, 446 Beekman Street, New York City." Paper remnants on reverse from being removed from a salesman's sample book. NM. First we've seen in our 50 years. Rare.
