Item Description
Complete set of 16 different 3.25x7" 32-page full color comics. ©1947 General Mills Inc. Comes w/four original envelopes which show obvious wear and are just Good but scarce. Comics were issued in four different sets w/four titles per set and designated w/a series letter - W, X, Y, Z. Each set was available for 10¢ and one Cheerios box top. The key issue is Y-1 "Donald Duck's Atom Bomb" featuring Carl Barks art. Overstreet notes "Disney Has Banned Reprinting This Book." Other characters featured in these comics include - Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox, Dumbo, Seven Dwarfs, Bucky Bug. Issues all have lt. even aging, w/some scattered corner tip wear. "Donald Duck's Atom Bomb"is VF overall along w/nine others. Rest have some small edge wear w/a few .25" edge tears to covers, "Donald Duck And The Pirates" has two .5" tears. VG. Rest are VG-Fine overall. Rarely found as a complete set.
