Item Description
Each 1.25", between 1911 and 1970 there was an annual hike up this 11,750 ft. Utah mountain. The event was started by Brigham Young University's coach Eugene Roberts (pictured on the 1953 button). Beginning in 1930 buttons were awarded to successful climbers. 1970 was the last hike because it was drawing some 3,500 people and became overwhelming for the U.S. Forest Service. The annual issues here are : 1935, 1937, 1938, 1953, 1954, 1958. The 1953-54 buttons have back paper "Badge Furnished Through Courtesy Of Provo Chamber Of Commerce". Very limited issues and all Mint.
